Submission to Industry re safe and responsible AI

The Hub has made a joint submission, with UNSW Business School Regulatory Laboratory (‘RegLab’), on the Discussion Paper Safe and responsible AI in Australia.
The submission responds to many of the questions in the discussion paper, including:
- "Inspecting” to ”Questioning";
- Proposals for law reform;
- Support for standards development;
- The need for guidelines for government procurement of AI systems;
- Supplementing "generic laws" with technology specific guidance;
- A proposed redirection of focus from seeking ‘trust’ to ensuring ‘trustworthiness’;
- Some suggested characteristics for a risk-based approach.
